Is this for you or for someone else? Both of those settings are very nice and which is liked more is basically personal preference. I like the six-prong one more because I'm a huge fan of putting as many prongs on round stones as you can - six, eight, whatever! And I don't like the way four prongs make a round stone look kind of square. But some people HATE six-prong settings.

If it was for me it would be easy to like or dislike :)

this is my engagement ring for my GF. She hinted the other day that she likes the costco ring above, which lead me to find the diamond (with a lot of help from folks on this forum).

Personally I don't like the knife edge. I will wear an eternity band with mine and I want it to sit flush. Do you have any idea what kind of band she wants?

I would suggest you go with the first JA setting (6 prong, knife edge), however you should get it in Platinum (not WG) since the Costco ring is in Platinum. That's going to be a beautiful ring!

Knife edge with six prongs for sure.

Oh right, well if she liked that one, then definitely get the six-prong setting!

Get the 6 prong setting, as it is closest to what she pointed out. Personally though, I find knife-edge bands uncomfortable to wear. Has she actually tried on this style of ring?

The costco shank appears thicker than the 2mm James Allen six prong. Does she have a preference to thickness? I personally prefer a thin shank 1.8-2.2 or so, because I think it makes the center stone appear larger, however there are others who feel the opposite can be true.

Knife edge is not uncomfortable at all when worn with a wedding band with the same height band. You can't feel it at all in that case.

I really like the 6 prong knife-edge handmade ring, but I agree, get platinum!

Ditto this, not a fan of 4-prong settings on round stones (unless they are double claw prongs).
