Greetings all,

I had hoped my next post would be in the SMTR forum, but I hit a small bump. My Whiteflash ring arrived today – it looks gorgeous. It is a center stone with five smaller channel-set side stones on each side of center. When my appraiser viewed the setting under her microscope, she noticed a small chip near the girdle of one of the side stones. The center stone was fine, and the chip was not visible to the naked eye. She did confirm it was visble under the loupe, but I still couldn’t see it.

So my question is:

Keep it knowing there is a tiny imperfection; or
Send it back, wait, get it inspected again, and hope for perfection.

I’m torn. I don’t really want to deal with the hassle, and kind of wish I didn’t know about it. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Send it back.
If you didn''t chip it but it came that way ... it wasn''t what you expected, therefore, WF should be able to fix it up for you and make it perfect.

You absolutely do not have to live with this. Please give us a call on Monday morning and we will arrange to get the ring back to us overnight so that we can change the stone out and get it back to you as quickly as possible.

This is why going through Whiteflash is so great! Fast and friendly response on the board, and they''re more than happy to fix it for you. I would send it back.

I really think my next purchase will be from WF. I''ve seen nothing but great customer service from them. They never fail to impress me.

proof that whiteflash rocks...

WOW! Look at their quick response! Talk about customer service! Per Lesley, definitely send it back so that you can get it back *perfect!* Can''t wait to see handshots once the ring''s been fixed.

I know the folks at WhiteFlash well and I know this to be a fact! They will make it right, all you need to do is call and talk to them.

LOL, as I said...

I gotta say, as a current e-ring shopper, it''s encouraging to see this level of CS. WF''s CS and upgrade policy are a huge advantage for me as a consumer.

Thanks everyone. I am indeed impressed with WF's service. I will be sending it back to get that stone replaced, and also because as I looked at the setting more, the crown appeared to be crooked. Anyone else have any experience with this? I tried to take a picture of it, but couldn't get enough detail. It just looks like the center stone is not sitting up straight. I don't know anything about how much tolerance is allowable in settings, but I at least want them to see if they agree with me. I really just want this to be over, but I do appreciate everyone's help.

Best to all.

Set the ring on your desk (or any flat surface) with the diamond face down on its table and the hoop standing up in the air. The hoop should be completely vertical. If the crown is crooked, it should be apparant.

Well I took some pictures to send to Whiteflash. I know some WF reps monitor this forum, and I am certainly not trying to trash talk WF - I think it is a great retailer and a great way to buy diamonds. It's bothering me more and more as I think about it. I just want my perfectly symmetrical stone to sit in a ring of similar craftsmanship...then I can finally propose.

I hope once this issue is resolved I can finally post some pictures of the ring so many of you have helped me choose. I really don't want to deal with more trips to FedEx after this.

Thanks.

I just want to echo WF''s excellent customer service. I am in the process of sending my ring back for inspection of a small mark on a prong. They are willing to pay for overseas FedEx shipping just to have a look at it. Impressive!

Since we''re sharing our personal experiences with the AmAzInG customer service WF offers, I had to chime in! They really REALLY go ABOVE AND BEYOND in EVERY way to make the customer happy and the final product P*E*R*F*E*C*T. I won''t bore you with my whole long drawn out story. I promise you that I''m speaking from experience. They won''t stop until you are 100% thrilled and they are soooooooooo unbelieveably accomodating and helpful with getting things taken care of. You have nothing to worry about going with WF, they WILL take care of any problems that arise.
