Chevron prong vs regular. Does V shape make it look smaller?

Hey guys,
so I need your opinion and some info.

I got a pair of diamond earrings that are each 1/2 carat princess cut. I had it for 3 weeks and one of the diamonds fell off, good thing is the store replaced it, however when they replaced it they set the diamond in a different setting, the V shaped with a screw back. It was set in a different one. These earrings are different now, they were replaced but now I''m thinking they look a bit smaller. It could be that these diamonds are deeper than the ones before, I don''t know, but they look smaller, so I am wondering if it could be the different prongs. I like the new setting, but just want to make sure I''m not getting jipped as these are not certified, but they are from a place I trust, but obviously not that much since I''m wondering this.

Should not be. Do you have some sort of measurements for the original store? The store might have given you the wrong set of ear-rings meant for another customer?

Also, what did you mean by replace? You lost the stone or if just came loose and you took back both stones to the store? If they use another set of stones, even with the same carat weight the dimensions might be different as there is a lot more different ways to cut a princess.

The stone came off and I lost it. They replaced it because I only had it for 3 weeks! What stone falls out in 3 weeks? So they replaced both earrings. The ones I had before were not screw backs, they were the other kind, so I requested they replace with screw backs, then they told me that their Jeweler only had princess cuts in pressure backs but that they would set it in screw backs once they received the earrings. I got them from Abazias, they are a wholesaler, I actually got my engagement diamond there too, as a loose stone, GIA for a killer deal, so my husband went back to them to get the earrings. I''m happy with the earrings, I just think they look a bit smaller, but again, it could very well be the cut, I''ll have a jeweler look at it.
