Why would you see black shadows between princess cut, channel set, stones?

Would this reflect poorly cut stones or spaces between them when they were set? If the later, could they be moved closer together w/o hurting the setting?

**Just a note, I visited GIA on the net and looked at the diamond tutorial. It was a lot of fun and quite informative.

Bedazzled, could you post a pic of the ring?

Bedazzled, I was hoping by you posting a pic of the ring an expert would chime in, unfortunately I'm not an expert just a consumer like you.

Maybe you are seeing a little air space between the stones. Without a photo, that's just pure speculation.

I think it is air space b/c when I look up at the light, there is a space between the stones. This is only apparent on one side of the channel setting. It bothers me b/c otherwise the ring is beautiful.

Could this be fixed w/o ruining the setting?????????

Or am I just too picky??

NEW QUESTION:

Is there any effect on the brilliance of a round stone when
you put it in a V-shaped head vs. a basket with a setting bar?????
