I bought a Harry Winston Channel Set eternity ring a while back and recently dropped it on cement. The diamond appears fine but there is a few small dings in the platinum.....at the top near the diamonds....is this a major problem?

How safe is a channel setting for diamonds??????

I am so worried and will post pics when I get home but I am at work now

It sounds like you just dented the metal, but you would need to check with a loupe. Channel settings are usually pretty secure if the channel is tight. Just look through a loupe or have a jeweler do it for you.

If a diamond is damaged maybe you can take it and have the one replaced, but I would probably just leave it. If you are like me, you will now be uber careful with it. Unfortunately, I know this from experience!

Yes, I am already neurotic and has only been an hour

I think you are right, that the metal is just dented...it seems well made (I hope, I $$$ for a HW)...but I will look tonight with the loupe...

THANK U!

Do you live near a HW for them to take a look at it? FI and I bought our wedding rings from HW and the SA said that if we encounter ANY issues with them at any point, to bring them back and someone will take a look at them.

Did you post pics at any point? I would love to see it! All the channel set bands I saw there the last time we went were thicker than 2mm.

Yes, I live by the South Coast one and am taking it right after work...I was just so stressed, thought I would hit up PS first...

I have to re-look at my paperwork, but I was pretty sure it was 2mm...
