I just got a 3 stone ring from bluenile today. I am so excited :) I started looking locally at emerald cuts and tried on 3 stone rings (rounds) and was sold! I love the sparkle and spread of the ring. The center stone is 1.25 and the sides are .55ct each. G/VS2 and all three stones are AGS zero. I used the cut advisor on this site and am very pleased with my purchase.

I have a plain 3mm platinum wedding band. I am wondering how you think my ring would look with a channel set 1ct round ring in platinum. . Do you think it would be too much "bling" or would it complement the three stone. I don't want an eternity band since Iwant the option to size it in the future.

Here is a photo of the three stone style I got:

Setting shown with 1 carat round center diamond.

Huh, I don''t know why that did not work. It is the design your own three stone on blue nile, and the basket setting in platinum.

Amy-

I''m basically doing the same thing. I have a three stone princess trellis ring being made at WhiteFlash (with my Blue Nile stone, lol) and just ordered their bead set round stones eternity band to go with it. I also have a half-eternity princess channel anniversary band that could go as well. I do intend to buy a 2.5mm plain wedding band for the times when I don''t want so much, um, sparkle I guess, lol. Also, I think plain bands can make an e-ring pop more!

Can''t wait to see pics!!

Hi,
Yes, I replied on your post. I think yours will look nice, different shapes. I am also debating on whether to get the .75ctw or the 1ctw keeping in mind my 3 stone ring center stone is 1.25 ct.

You will not regret a plain band too. My band is my original from 12 years ago and its my workhorse :) When my babies were born, I did not want to wear my diamond (.82ct) and having the plain band was really a nice thing. My 3mm band is a heavy comfort fit band and its engraved insdie which makes it super sentimental.

I am going to make my .82ct stone into a pendant eventually when I decide what to do with it. For now, I'm going to put it in my safe deposit box for safe keeping.

The plan band actually looks nice with the 3 stone ring. I'm not exactly running out tommorow and buying the channel set ring :) Just thinking ahead :)

I will definately post photos in the next week or so.

Its funny how I was so set on an emerald cut until I tried them on. Pretty but not me. Then when I tried on 3 stone rounds I was blown away. But the prices locally were so beyond high for not such great stones.

I think that will be a great look! Right now I wear a solitaire with a channel-set band, but I am going to turn the solitaire into a 3-stone for a future anniversary gift. I tried on the look at a jewelry store, and I loved it!

Originally I thought I wanted a prong-set band with my engagement ring, but the prong set diamonds were overpowering my e-ring diamond, while the channel set seemed to compliment it without overpowering. See my avatar for a photo.

vespergirl, that is really pretty. I love your ring and I think as a three stone it will look great too.

Is your ring eternity or is it halfway?

I love the idea of eterntiy bands but am afraid because they can''t be resized and I am afraid of grabbing stuff with my hands and damaging the diamonds on the underside.

Hi Amy, I was just talking to you on my hangout post! :)

My wedding band is channel set with 12 diamonds, .5 carat tw, so they only go around halfway. At first I thought I wanted an eternity band, but my husband was like, what''s the point, you only ever see the ones on the front ... Plus I wear a small size (5) so they truly go halfway around - it looks like the diamonds go all the way around from the top, so I get the same look as an eternity band.

So, I got the band from Blue Nile, and it''s perfect. I like it because the bottoms of both of my rings are already scratched up, but the tops still look really nice & shiny. I really haven''t had any problems with the band turning and seeing the plain side. Plus, when I put on hand cream, I can avoid the tops of the bands, so the diamonds still look sparkly even if a get a little lotion on the back.

Plus, I''m never worried about damaging or losing a diamond. I know it''s a different type of setting, but my friend just got engaged & she has a micropave band with the diamonds going all the way around, and she''s already lost a diamond on the bottom after only wearing it for 2 weeks! So, if you love the eternity band look, go for it, but I like the halfway as being practical for everyday wear ... just my 2 cents :)
