Okay, I am feeling the scratch for needing some kind of change. However, I have a pretty limited budget.

I recently purchased a preloved sapphire ring. Lately, i have felt like the whole thing too clunky and large on my hand and wondering if a setting change would help.

Another thought i am having is I am getting slight DSS with my ering which has already been upgraded. I am wondering if a change in setting could help...something with a thinner shank and the diamond set higher off the finger...

I can only proceed to modify ONE ring for now.

I will first post a pic of my sapphire ring and then the setting i considering that would look less clunky. I would want yellow gold for the sapphire.

Then a pic of my platinum ering followed by two settings I am considering...dunno if rose gold or platinum would be better?

So, i am wondering which would yoh choose to modify? Then, if u choose to modify the ering setting, which one would u think would make my stone stand out more and in which metal? Included is a pic of my ering with wedding band, i find the two together makes the ering even LESS noticeable...

All your input would be helpful!!!!

I wouldn't change a thing. Both are unique and gorgeous! Is there a cure for DSS?!

I wouldn't change the sapphire as that's a very classic look and changing from a halo to a halo seems like a waste of money for either really. Get some side ovals and do a three stobe for your e ring?

I wouldnt chance either...perhaps adding a stacker or two to your ering might give you a nice change. Already looks like you
have good finger coverage with both rings so ???

I love both your rings. Having said that if you don't love them you won't enjoy wearing them as much as you could. In that case which ring do you want to wear more or which ring do you like less as it is now? I really LOVE the second setting you posted for your platinum ER. That halo setting you are considering is TDF.

Hmm...Niel, you may be onto something here. Maybe a 3 stone trellis with pear sidestones...it will likely get me the finger coverage a bling i am looking for!

Missy, i prefer to wear my ering my re often.

If i do go that route, what can i do with my current platinum bezel halo setting once the diamond is out? Is there a jeweler out there who can keep my platinum setting to offset a part of the cost to make the setting?

Thanks!!

Also, i am having a hard time finding pics of such a three stone with an oval and trellis setting....

I only found this

First, I love your engagement/wedding band set, and wouldn't change it. I think it's classic and nicely proportioned - it looks very nice on your hand.

The sapphire ring is gorgeous - a replica of Diana's. My mom has a similar one. I agree with other posters who said you can wear it as-is, but my guess is that you are a younger woman and that setting feels dated to you? If so, I vote for resetting the sapphire in that Arabesque-ish shaped halo. It's stunning. I'd opt for yellow gold or white gold.

Let me see what I can find in terms of oval three stone.

I'll stay this. Try hard not to let anyone change your opinion of your ring. Obviously that goes for people who don't like it (who would that even be?!) But people who like it too. Don't let other people's love of your ring guilt you into keeping it. I say this becuase I was over my 5 stone for a while but kept it becuase people kept saying "how could you change this it's perfect?!" And I forced myself to like it even though I really didn't.

A good jeweler can remove your stone with minimal damage to the bezel. Will still need to be rebuilt but it would take have to be scrapped.

Thanks Niel. I sent an email to David Klass...ill ser what he says...

Is pear the only sides you'd consider. I think oval three stones with oval sides are very uncommon but sexy and provide a lot of finger coverage

I just want to second Neil's wise words. She is right. Don't let us change your mind. You are the one wearing it and you are the one who should love and adore it. I posted some examples in your other thread of what you said you are thinking of now. Good luck and have fun and cannot wait to see what you decide!
