I have an engagement ring with baguettes as side stones and I wanted to know if it is possible to buy a new setting and have those baguettes removed from my current setting into a new one? There are 4 baguettes, 2 on each side, set in a platinum channel/bar type of setting. I am told that they are hammered in by a jeweler and am wondering if they are easy to be removed without any damage. Or do you suggest to buy new baguettes to put in the new setting?

Please advise!
Thanks for your help!!

Yup they can be carefully ground out with abrasive 'dental' discs.

It is not uncommon for them to have been chipped on the corners and most jewellers will warn you of this possability.
If they are chipped the chance of the stone chipping further is greater. But that's life.

Thanks for the info!
So do you suggest the new setting to be purchased with new baguettes?? How much do you think it would be for 0.12 X 4 baguettes???

Thanks again... you are GREAT help!!
