Change in perspective...

I have pale white skin and avoid the sun because it would burn unprotected in 5 minutes. I cannot tan at all. For this and vanity reasons I avoid the sun, I am almost naturally albino-looking, hair is very pale, also. I am almost 60 and have no wrinkles or aged-looking skin anywhere, the skin on my face, neck, arms and hands look the same as they did as when I was 20. (I do look close to my age because of the mildly sagging and dumpy look some us menopausal women get) but my skin looks great and very youthful and people remark on it a lot. I have used aloe vera based natural creams on my skin since my 20's (love Aubrey Organics) and have had no procedures done to look younger. Sun is skin's worst enemy.

I was driving home from work today and its hot and sunny. Lots of people out. First I saw a blonde man on a tractor very dark tan skin. 10 min later I saw a blonde woman cross in front of me in a sundress. Again very tan. Both times I thought " how unhealthy! Such risk for skin cancer!" After 9 different skin cancer surgeries I have a much different perspective on healthy looking. I enjoy my pale, spot free skin. I don't think I have ever thought about it before. I grew up in an age where we slathered on the baby oil to get darker. Healthy looking was the best tan possible.

playing devils advocate here - but how do you know the woman with the sundress doesn't spray tan?! and i think many in fact i may generalize here and say MOST celebs spray tan now as well...

"Most" spray tans are obvious. Given the darkness and the condition of her skin, I doubt it was a spray.
