Ceylon Star Sapphire help

My husband says my star sapphire is violet and I say it's light blue. Who's right? help!

Haha... it looks kinda violetish blue. It seems to be a light blue with violet streaks (those may be a trick of the camera). I'd say it's more blue than violet.

Violetish blue. It's more blue than violet. Does it also shift in color under different lights? I had a star sapphire that looked blue in sunlight, and violetish blue indoors.

I am ahead so far! Yes. It does change in light sources . It has a nice translucency that doesn't show in this photo....

I've been looking for a star sapphire of this size, and in a light blue. Can you recommend any vendors?

Depends on the type of light source you used to force out the star.

Proabaly colorshifting between blue and violet.

How about calling it a colour change star sapphire? It looks sooo big, I would have to ask for specs and vendor. Love it!

Thanks everyone! My husband gave it to me for Christmas. He keeps his source a secret...It's very large but I think th setting is very classy. So far it's a tie!
