Hi everyone,

I was just wondering who has the strictest standards in evaluating diamonds? Is it GIA? It's a bit confusing with all the different institutions giving an assessment. Thanks for your help!

It IS confusing! Even more so because some establishments offer different types of reports with different grading criteria for various shapes, different labs have different reputations in different countries, industry "standards" vary...

Are you looking at a new stone or did you want to send in a stone you already have?
what country are you in?
what shape are you looking at?
is the stone loose?

I've just been lurking around here and trying to learn as much as I can when I buy a pair of diamond studs on August for my birthday I currently live in Vancouver right now, but when I make my purchase, I'm definitely going to be coming here to PS for expert advice and feedback!
