I would like some input on ceremony readings. We are going to use one religious verse, probably 1 Corinthians 13. The second one does not have to be religious, but I''m having trouble finding something I like.

FI and I met when we were 14 and we''re best friends. I would love to have a reading that emphasized the fact that we''ve grown up together and will grow old together... I don''t know if there is anything like that? I''m open to pretty much anything... passages from books/movies, love letters, etc.

Anyway, ANY reading suggestions would be much appreciated :)

Thanks!

Try this thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/readings-at-wedding-ceremony.88730/. October2008Bride posted one there - "Union" - that we ended up using. It was the first reading I came across that really struck a chord. There are some other nice ones listed, as well. If you do a search for ceremony reading quite a few posts come up, actually. I can''t think of any right now that fit your growing up and growing old theme, but if I do I''ll let you know.

At my wedding, we had my SIL read 1 Corinthians 13 and my brother read "Foundations of Marriage" by Regina Hill. I found it on this website...they have a ton of nice, romantic readings!

"Friendship", by Judy Bielicki

“It is often said that it is love that makes the world go round. However, without doubt, it is friendship which keeps our spinning existence on an even keel. True friendship provides so many of the essentials for a happy life-it is the foundation on which to build an enduring relationship, it is the mortar which bonds us together in harmony, and it is the calm, warm protection we sometimes need when the world outside seems cold and chaotic. True friendship holds a mirror to our foibles and failings, without destroying our sense of worthiness. True friendship nurtures our hopes, supports us in our disappointments, and encourages us to grow to our best potential. (Bride) and (Groom) came together as friends. Today, they pledge to each other not only their love, but also the strength, warmth and, most importantly, the fun of true friendship.”
