I'm looking to get larger studs (I have .62 studs right now) at a bargin price (<$700). I know most advise against this but I found a pair of 1.04 L VS2 CE diamond studs that I can get for around $450. I know CE usually only improve clarity 1 or 2 grades so these would have been SI1 or SI2 beforehand. Still waiting to find out what type of CE - I didn't ask when I saw them. My other pair are non-CE K VS1 and the coloring is very similar between the two. The vendor has a 2 month return policy. Would this be a no-go or a why not try? Thanks.

I'd do simulants before CE, personally. But I don't think $450 is bad in any event.

I agree. If the the epoxy fill falls out or discolors, ypur stuck. There are great simular options including moissanite (which we can't discuss here due to forum rules), or gemstones like spinel, danburite and zircon. You can get input on the latter three on the colored stone board.

Thank you both for the advice. Have had moissys and white zircon but felt the zircon were dull next to my studs. I found a vintage pair of 0.40ctw studs on illusion settings which give a 5.5mm look. I may give those a try until my budget is large enough for 1ct+ studs.
Also, found out pre-CE the studs above were I1 so they were heavily enhanced. Just based on that, I know to pass on these.
