I've been wanting to purchase a "starter" super ideal with the intention of upgrading slowly over the years to a substantial size. I've had .4ct ACAs before and I loved them, but was intrigued with the CBI fever going around the boards. Although CBI are more expensive than ACAs (and money is a factor for me), I am one of the unfortunate ones who lives in Texas and therefore has to pay sales tax at time of purchase with WF. After doing some price comparison between the two, and realizing after tax that a CBI would only be ~2% higher than an ACA, I was sold.
Although I love icy white stones), I've been wanting a warmer stone to wear as an erring. HPD had a .81ct J that seemed to foot the bill both in size and price. @LaylaR was amazing and helped me pick out a great setting for it. She even sent me pictures of a very similar stone in the setting she recommended so I could see proportions.
I picked the ring up on Friday and I am in love! The stone is absolutely amazing and now I don't know if I will be able to trade it in for a bigger one when the time comes; I may have to purchase another one! Oh, and the best part- I tested it and it does have faint fluorescence!
Now for the pictures (glamour shots from HPD and iPhone pics from me)! Sorry my iPhone pics aren't as good as some of yours
