@lyra I also suspected you might suffer AS. DH was diagnosed in 1998 and has the genetic markers, evidently from his father’s side. I suspect one of his nephews also carries the trait(s), as he is exhibiting similar symptoms to DH when he was the nephew’s age.

DH is also on methotrexate. He was on Humira and had an episode of undetected sepsis which was nearly the end of him! His rheumatologist was really leery of using Remicade after that. Can’t blame him...

My SIL has Crohn’s (w/ multiple surgeries) which you likely know is in the same “family” as AS. She finds excellent pain relief w/ cannabis.

I’ve done a lot of research into dosing and the same advice is always given: It’s personal trial and error to find the right dosage and or strain that works. It’s really fascinating to me!

A friend of mine has a relative (young teen) who was experiencing multiple seizures daily. She started on cannabis (I don’t recall the strain, dosage, etc.) and within a week, the seizures went down to just two or three times a week. The family was / is amazed.

Indeed, it can be useful only if it brings relief. The appropriate amount varies for each individual, as every person has a unique biology that results in a different reaction. I think it is better to start from low dose and slowly increase it.

I used both of them when I was younger because my doctor said that only this will help me. I didn't what that, but according to his own words, it was the best medicine. I can't say that it was helping me much, but on more contrary, I got addicted and didn't know what to do. Addressing another doctor he recommended me to take kratom. I thought that it was another type of drug so I immediately refused, but he calmed me and said that it's not a drug, it's 100% legal all over the world. Kratom is a tree which leaves are used in medicine for more than 100 years already and if you take it correctly then you won't have any problem. He gave me the address of the kratom shop. It not only helped me but also didn't produce any addiction so I could easily get rid of it when I managed to cure it.
