I saw an expert selection G SI2 on WF''s site and fell in LOVE with it. It was the perfect size (broke the magical 1 ct mark), perfect color, clarity, was upgradeable... and I just kept going back to it over and over and it kept showing up in every search I did--no matter what parameters I put in!
I talked myself out of the upgrade, then the next day I was back looking again and trying to rationalize it. Eventually, I knew I should just bite the bullet and that it was the one for me. John had one of their gemologists check it out, said it was beautiful and an excellent "performer" (that cracks me up!), we ran the HCA #s on it, and it scored 1.7 (not as high as my ACA but still great). It has a small inclusion that can be covered with a prong and the table is clean, so I was 100% fine with that. It''s a 1.01 ct, compared to my current .806. It''s a G compared to my current H. Both stones SI2s...
So then I had to talk my hubby into spending more money to get me this beauty. I brought up photos of the stone next to 2 others that were the same color and clarity but were smaller and weren''t expert selection. He said he liked this one best hands-down. It took some sweet-talking, but he decided we could swing it.
What a sweetie pie. He''s got to be sick of this nonsense! Anyway, I''ll post a picture I had Lesley take of my ring with the current stone in it next to the new stone. I am SOOOOO excited. I absolutely cannot wait to see this ring and the eternity band they''ve made for me that is shipping with it. I''ll be DONE and I''ll have a much more beautiful set than I ever thought possible. I''ve always wanted a 1 carat stone (totally psychological). And my fingers are small, so it should look nice and BIG!

And I''ll try to post the side by side pic next...
