You know how on Let's Make a Deal, the host would ask if anyone had a red mint with them and everyone would look? This is also a popular wedding shower game.

I want to play this game with you ,Catmom, because I believe YOU own an example of everything lovely in the world of jewels and I am just waiting for the adoption papers to go through so I can play with the gems. Please feel free to join in and challenge Catmom.

So here goes...

1) One antique (older than 50 y.o.) piece
2) Something ascher cut
3) Something orange

Let's see those pictures!!!

You're funny bookworm! I'm incredibly flattered and thank you so much for your kind words about my jewelry but there's much I don't have. I guess I need to go shopping. :naughty: Ah hem, about those adoption papers.......I think my daughter found them and I haven't seen them since.

I'll play though. #1 Hmm, I have a couple pieces that are vintage. I have my mother's baby ring which has three tiny little emeralds. I also have my husband's grandmother's crystal necklaces from the 40's and 50's.

#2 You've got me here lol, I have no asschers but I really want one. Puts on list ........

#3 Orange huh. Well the closest I have is a rhodocrosite necklace. I really want a spess some day. Puts spess on the list next to asschers.

I don't have the capacity to join in... but if someone else does....

Catmom:

How about something

a) pink;
b) pear shaped; and
c) coral.

So lovely....thanks for sharing and thanks for joining in! What do I have to do to be REALLY good friends with your daughter??

 Learn how to play softball and take pitching lessons. That might help. She's a softball coach at her old high school, coaches a travel 18U team and gives pitching/catching/hitting lessons on the side.

Ha iota, you're easy! I've got a and b covered all in one. Here's my pink sapphire pear. It's set in white and yellow gold with FY diamonds in the bale. For c, I have a turquoise and coral set that I bought on a trip to Arizona one year or a coral and jasper pendant that I've had forever.

Wow catmom!

Ok here's my challenge:

a) emerald cut
b) something blue
c) something bezelled

Ok luckynumber.........you're on.........

a, emerald cut tsavorite. This is a very special ring for me, bought right after I had my stroke and they found the hole in my heart. I consider those my "guardian angels" on the sides.

b, ummmm surely you jest............what should I pick? And this is just the sapphires.

c, Here are my amethyst earrings. They were originally posts that I had reset and added to a pair of diamond earrings that I never wore. I like dangly earrings.

Oh Catmom I am gobsmacked!! You have some wonderful pieces :appl: :appl: :appl:

Esp love all the sapphire items!

Catmom, my challenge was merely a thinly veiled attempt to get you to post all of your amazing sapphires!

So glad you've done so!

She sure does! Gorgeous!

Wow I wish blue looked good on me bc those sapphires are TDF!!

Nice collection Catmom :lickout:

I am awe of your collection, I have seen pictures posted here and there over the years, I would LOVE to see all of it, you have such elegant taste in jewelry!!

:appl: :appl: Catmom you are incredible! Everything beautiful! Wahoooooo! :appl:

 sapphire

Glad you have nothing to do today, but to post pictures!!

a) Pearl(s)
b) A twist - your daughter has invited you and your hubby to dinner at a nice restuarant. You are meeting her boyfriend's parents for the first time. Show at least 2 pieces you would wear.
c) The one piece your daughter would never give me....even if I did learn how to pitch. :naughty:

Aww thanks guys. You are too kind!

Heck luckynumber, your guise worked well. I did almost post my aquas though instead of my sapphires.

LOL, it's too hot to do much else.

Ok, a is easy. I don't know why that picture is so small.....

b, I would probably wear my calla pendant and ring. They are a little more understated than the sapphires.

c, that would probably be my white and yellow diamond pendant and bracelet. The pendant is more of a modern setting than I usually wear and she talked my hubby into getting them for me for Christmas one year.

Catmom as always your collection is beautiful. I love the white and yellow diamonds ***i will go add them now to my list!

Catmom, I've spent many hours recently drooling over the jewelry I've seen in several different posts. Your collection is astounding! What a lucky daughter you have!

Ha ha oranges, it's only because I'm old that I have as much as I do.

Thank you so much Sarahbear and yennyfire!

Those saphhires! And that Tsav ring! Just gorgeous, Catmom.

Can I ask for a few more? (Great idea, bookworm!)

a) a 4-inch long pendant (why not?);

b) a tennis bracelet; and

c) a set of three-tiered dangly earrings.

Thanks iota and bean!

a) Well you got me here! I don't have a 4 inch pendant, lol. The longest I have is the turquoise and coral pendant from above and that is 3 inches.

b) Here is my graduated pink sapphire tennis bracelet......did you think I was going to do a diamond one?

c) Well my blue sapphire earrings are three tiered but I already showed those so here are my diamond chandelier earrings. They are three tiered.

Cool, ok let's see.......

1) I only have a few things with rubies. Here is a diamond and ruby stacker ring that I have.......................

2) Well my new sapphire ring is my favorite now. It is a replacement for an old ring that is very, very special to me. I have always loved sapphires and even though we had no money for quite a while after getting married somehow my hubby saved enough to get me this sapphire ring for Christmas one year. Of course that was back when we didn't know any better and thought all sapphires should be dark, almost black. I wore this ring almost every day. I still love the unique setting to this day. I just wish the sapphires weren't so dark. I love the cut outs on the sides almost like stained glass windows. Even though I never wear it, I will love this ring forever because it was bought with love from my hubby.

3) Here are two of my favorite brooches. The one on the right is a Limoges brooch that my hubby bought me for Christmas one year. It is really cobalt blue and not black like it looks in the picture. The one on the left I recieved as a present from one of my husband's Japanese clients. I really like it a lot. I don't think you can tell but the stems of the bamboo have a multi-colored hue to them that is really quite pretty.

You are my hero..... :appl:

a) Opal - Black Opal by any chance
b) something without a stone (besides those lovely broaches)
