Does anyone know where I can find a solitaire diamond ring setting that is similar to Cartier''s platinum, single diamond setting for brilliant-cut diamond? The ref # is: HP402220. I love it!
thanks so much! I love the simplicity & elegance of the setting....have you seen any other similar settings? And what do you think of tension settings? Esp the Omega by Niessing or Steven K.?
Look at Whiteflash's Fine-Line-Platinum-Solitaire-by-Le. It's very similar to the style I think you are looking for and they actually call it the cartier ring on one of their other sites.
To see pics of it on a real person's hand, go here and view Sxn's beautiful ring
The most elegant I've seen of the Cartier-inspired solitaires is from Mikimoto. I believe it is sold only in Japan. It looks better than the original, in my opinion.
I prefer the Kretchmer Omega to the Cartier but, to be fair, it probably costs at least twice as much.
I never realized how difficult it is to choose a setting! I bounce back and forth! At first I was impressed by the Cartier solitaire setting, then the tension setting, now its the Pave eternity setting (see Mara's) with matching band. But, I'm having fun reading all of your comments and getting new ideas! Thanks everyone!
A lot of settings look bad to me when viewed from the side. Only a few get it right, as far as I'm concerned.
Tiffany gets it right. Cartier gets it right. Kretchmer gets it right. Mikimoto gets it right.
The Tifanny-inspired solitaires from Whiteflash, NiceIce, SuperbCert and others are close, but they just don't get it right in my opinion. Then again, you may want to look at the price difference and consider the amount of time you'll be viewing it from the side.
