Cartier Solitaire Prices

has anyone an idea how much you''ll have to pay for a Cartier stone in a 2.5 - 3 ct. range (very good cut, colour and clarity) ?
I don''t need exact prices - just an approximation or an exaple of a ring someone of you has seen in a cartier store recently.

I think you should just give them a call and ask, they will be able to provide you good estimates and also tell you what they have available.

it''s just that i am sooo impatient and can''t wait till my next trip to cartier (am very busy at the moment) so i just hoped to get an impression on how much it might be.

furthermore, i am not planning to buy one in the next days

- and the sales assistants always take me that serious that it''s really hard to say in a polite way that i was just wondering about the price to get an impression about how much my poor future fiance would have to spend

well, i''m still hoping for some experience from other ladies here and in the "worst case" i''ll have to ask next time when i''m buying something else at cartier''s anyway.

I had wanted a cartier ring sooo badly and we looked and they were super nice as the FI had purchased other pieces for me there (the flagship store in NYC) We looked at a 1.65 carat round solitare and while I can''t remember the specs, I do remember the price was around $27,000 pretax and before a large price raise. I now have a ring that was custom made and inspired by the 1895 setting and is 2.35 carats, G color, VS2 and was only a little more than what Cartier was asking for the smaller stone.

I would really like to see your cartier-inspired ring. do you have a picture of it?
I think in the end i''ll go for a custom made setting too - so I can include the elments I love from cartier rings and add a personal note too. I was looking once for a nearly 1ct RHR at cartier and it was a ridiculous price too...
well, i still love their jewellery so much - so I think i''ll buy many other "smaller" pieces from them

but for something around 2 or 3 ct - hm, maybe custom gets you waaaay more bling for your bucks

To get the best bang for your money you should consider buying a certified diamond from another source and buying the Cartier setting from Cartier then put it together.

If you want to save more money, you can get your favourite Cartier setting made from another vendor. Nobody but you will know the difference. If you can afford it then disregard this suggestion.

Cartier won''t set a non-Cartier diamond except in exceptional circumstances, and the stone has to undergo all sorts of scrutiny. One PS''er did this previously, can''t remember who. Cartier don''t sell just settings.

I went there a month, was not pricing diamonds but looking at color stones so can''t help you on you specific quesiton. But, from my experience, I want to say don''t be afried to ask. They were pretty upfront with me and wrote all the info about the ring and the price down for me to take home. It was way out of my league, but it was fun to try the rings on .
