How important is the Cartier Certificate? Do I need to present that to them if I need any service / repair in the future? They should be able to identify whether the rings are authentic without the Certificate, right?

Thanks in advance.

They should have your record of sale and when you give your name it will be linked to your item.

Hi ame, any chance you know that the sale history database is shared globally? or I need to go back to where I bought it?

It should be global. But if you have a sales associate you regularly work with or who worked with you that you trust, it might be wise to start there.

I have had to present my certificate for my watch, but not my love ring.

I didn't have to show a certificate when I last serviced my watch. They just looked up the numbers engraved on the back. It was long out of warranty though so there was no way that anything was covered.

I purchased a Cartier ring secondhand, no cert. Needed work on it - so I took it into Cartier and they sent it to their NY office. I kept my fingers crossed that it was authentic. It was, they did a great job, no questions asked even without the paperwork. So you should be fine.

When I had my mom's Cartier black opal resized for me I had to present the original bill of sale/certificate. This was at the Cartier on fifth ave in NYC.

ETA: My dad bought it for my mom at the NYC Cartier in 1972 and the reason they wanted the bill of sale is that they wouldn't resize a black opal ring that wasn't theirs as it is a very delicate endeavor (as per the sales associate).
