Hi Everyone,

I am looking to add a gold cuff to my collection. I am debating between the following options:

1) Cartier Love Bangle (classic in yellow gold)
2) Cartier Love Cuff in Yello Gold (May most like go with the cuff since I take my jewelry off when I sleep, garden, do housework, work out)
3) Having a yellow gold bangle made in the style (picture attached above).

Is Cartier worth the price? Does anyone here regret getting it?

Help me decide! Pros, cons?

The Cartier bangles are beautiful, classic and ionic but very expensive. You are paying a x3 plus factor over the gold value.
To many, it is all about the Cartier name and the accompanying red / gold embossed box and the buying experience in the Cartier boutique and if that’s what you want, anything else is less and not the same.
Me, I can’t see the point in paying such a huge premium for a “name”. I value quality of workmanship and value for money as more important.
I wouldn’t buy a Cartier bangle. While I love the diamond encrusted Love bangle at circa $20,000 I can buy an extremely fine, original and higher carat weight Art Deco diamond bracelet.

That is my dilemma. The price you pay is for the brand. It is a classic piece that I believe will hold its value more than a “no name” bracelet. Not sure what to do yet.

A dilemma.
If choosing between a new Cartier and the buying experience (buying pre loved Cartier requires great care due to fakes and copies) vs a newly made to your design style bangle, I’d say go with the Cartier.
You are right, once out the door, the resale value of a verified Cartier piece (do not lose any part of the documentation/ packaging) is always higher and an easier sale than a lovely but no name bangle.
My personal preference is always for pre loved over “new” due to the cost saving and/or more diamond/ gold for my money.

I have one and I love it. It doesn’t fit my life style as much anymore. But I still love it. Don’t love everything Cartier but I do love the bracelets.

I vote for the Love cuff.

Do you have the cuff or the bangle?

Go try it on. :D

My dilemma too! Talk about first world problems! I opted against Cartier love because I just feel too damn old for a love bracelet! Plus I don’t like the idea of paying that much money for something that is going to get banged up and scratched. I am thinking of going with a Roberto Coin bracelet.

Saw this collection in person and it is to die for! Comes in white, yellow, and rose gold. And has diamonds and is much less pricier than a Cartier. I like the matte look because it would hide all the scratches and it is very easy to take off and on. Best part! Saks has a friends and family sale every October and April where RC jewelry will be reduced by 20%.

I saw that one too! Stunning. However, there’s something holding me back from getting anything but Cartier and I think it’s the fact that Cartier has better resale value (always thinking just in case I want or need to sell it). Silly, but I do think about that. I never think about that with my other jewelry. I’m going to go to the boutique and see. Hopefully I won’t fall in love with it on.

I seriously considered getting a love bracelet as it was always on my bucket list. I ordered a cheapie "gold" bangle from Amazon and found that I couldn't wear it for more than 2 days. The LOVE is a beautiful design but I would make sure you are first happy and comfortable wearing a substantial bracelet for prolonged periods of time (unless you don't plan on wearing it every day)!

I thought about that and that’s why I’m leaning towards the cuff.....

I love the idea of a love bracelet...sometimes. But then when I think about it, this happens:

I couldn’t wear it to martial arts classes so I’d have to go with the cuff instead of the full bracelet. I also would usually wear bracelets on the left hand but would really hesitate to have one banging against my watch, so would probably go with right hand, and then my brain is all, wait a sec, so you’d have a watch on the left and a bracelet on the right, would it look like handcuffs?

And then the feminist in me remembers the symbolism of the love bracelet (chastity belts) and I’m all hell to the no, and bag the idea entirely and wonder about the JUC instead.

And then I start to wonder if the point of the JUC would get caught on things...:wall:

To answer your original question, I’d choose the cuff. Maybe. Or the JUC.

@Morenita21 I saw that you opted for the cuff, but then eventually sold it. Do you mind sharing your experience with the cuff and why you ultimately sold it? Thanks!

I wanted the Cartier bangles but markup was laughable so had them made from a local jeweler. Haven't regretted the decision one bit.
