Is there a chart that shows what mm dimensions a certain ct of stone should be?

For example, a 1.5 ct RB stone should be X.Xmm across?

I''m just wondering how to determine if a diamond will look small for its weight. Is it based on these mm dimensions?

It should be right around 7.4-5 mm if cut well :-)

This.

Actually its 1.2 ct. So based on the charts, it should be 6.8-6.9, otherwise it''ll look small for its size?

ya, around 6.85mm, ideally. If it deviate too much, it means you can buy a smaller stone and still get the same diameter. And as stone are priced primarily on the carat weight, you are paying more for less.

the stone measures 6.83.

does the 0.02 difference (From 6.85) make much of a visual difference?

No! Look on a ruler and see how big a mm is, then mentally divide it by 50. That''s the difference we are talking about here

Just a quick note with these charts, according to one of the experts they can be on the optimistic side for face up size or spread so use as a guide only.

deviation of around 3% is normal.

Yes it is, just pointing this out as some new posters can take these charts literally and get worried if a diameter doesn't quite measure up to the numbers given.
