I''m struggling to decide what carat weight antique style cushion to get for a 4.5 ring size halo...any thoughts out there? I''m looking at something like this for a setting...

I would start with your budget, and then decide what you can afford from there.

Carat size is less important than faceup size.
Assuming size 4.5 with a finger diameter of approximately 15mm.
For example a 1.5 carat cushion should have a width of about ~6.8mm in width. The setting halo melee should be at least 1.5 pointers based on 0.6 carats and I counted about 40 diamonds.

So as a rough estimate the halo would have a coverage of 0.2(metal)+1.5(0.015 pointers RB) + 6.8(centre) + 1.5(0.015 pointer RB) + 0.2(metal) across. Or About 10.2mm.

So with a 1.5 carat stone in the veraggio you are looking at about 68% finger coverage.

With a 2 carat stone about 7.5mm centre width or about 73% finger coverage.
3 Carat stone about 8.5mm centre or about 80% finger coverage.

This is a personal preference but I''d say anything 60% and above is going to be wonderful for most women.
