Can''t decide what carat size round bar eternity ring to get!

Hi everyone...I just became a member today and would like some help/suggestions in the e-ring department. I''m asking for an eternity ring as my e-ring because of my job and don''t want to wear anything too high off the finger, etc. Plus my style is more the cool band then the big bling. I''m a size 5.25 and am slender and tall so definitely want something substantial, but don''t know what size eternity ring to ask for. I LOVE the round bar eternity rings and tried on a 4mm wide 3.4ct round bar eternity ring yesterday and it was GORGEOUS! It''s so contemporary and clean looking. The prongs aren''t sticking up or showing, which I really like. I know it''s all about the person and what he/she feels the most comfortable in, but since this is going to be my e-ring, I want something that says wow and looks amazing. Can you blame me?

Does anyone have pictures of a round diamond eternity ring they could share in the 3-4ct range? I''m just going to get a 3mm-4mm plain band as my wedding band to wear with it, so this will be all the bling I sport.

do you mean Bar Set? if so, and are you in the US? if you are, I tried on one that was 2 carat at Jareds Barset... they were SUPER comfortable to wear... I would recommend trying one on at the shop. However, they say that they their rings are 2 carat no matter what size you are, so they would up your pointer size, they were currently 10 pointers in them size 7. I think if you could go try on at the store it would really help you. Pictures are great to look for style, however sometimes the pictures are not as representative of bling in real life. You could then custom make one after that.

That would make a smashing ering! I have an eternity band that is 3.28 carats and it is very substantial (size 6.5). I think 3.4 carats would look terrific on your size 5.25 finger. Since it is going to be your ering you don''t have to worry about matching it up with anything. I don''t have any pictures right now as I am on my way out. I''ll try to take some tomorrow.

I almost bought a Tiffany eternity ring at just under 3 carats, and it was too blingy to me...definitely moreso than my 1.6 ct. diamond and thin diamond wedding band. I returned it and would consider a smaller one (maybe 12 points each). My ring size is 5.5.

I wear a 6.25 - 7 (depends on the season), and think a 3.5mm width is perfect for an eternity band.

Hi there! I have an eternity band for an engagement ring too, and I am so happy i decided to go that route...it''s really comfortable and I never take it off.

Mine is 2.3 carats, so a bit small for what you are looking for. I did try on a 3-4 carat, and I loved it. But due to both monetary considerations and comfort, I went with the two carat.
