I am trying to decide on a new engagement ring. I really like pears, ovals and emerald/elongated asscher cuts with short ratios. AH! I know they are all so different but they all look good on my finger. Also, I like antique stones and really *only* want antique stones. budget of around $12k. I'd love the biggest pretty stone I can find within that price range. Here are a few I like.

this has an open culet, is it an antique? The center almost looks flowery like an OEC

no culet, but man it's pretty!

Would love to see an antique emerald cut. Or should I just call GOG? That seems to be a common recommendation on the boards I have read. Thanks for the help!

The first is not an old cut. It just has an open culet. It has some leakage under the table, but might be worth pursuing. It is pretty.

The oval also has leakage under the table.

If you like them all, then I say you keep your options open and get the best stone, regardless of the shape, that you can find.

I'd call Grace and Adam at OWD and see what they can find for you. Not GOG.
