Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of a Canadian diamond company called Canadian Rocks. I cam across some loose diamonds from them and it comes with only a certificate by them. The bottom of the certificate says "The Canadian Diamond Certificate." They are also laser inscribed with a serial number and a maple leaf . No other certification comes with the diamonds. Are these graded to the level of standard of GIA or more EGL? Is it a safe to buy these diamonds? Thank you!

Only GIA or AGS are reliable, respected labs. So I would pass on anything else. I have not heard of that brand.

As a Canadian, yes, I have heard of them.

All their diamonds are mined and from Canada. To some, this is important. Generally they have a really nice cut (when in doubt use the HCA tool) but they also have a premium price tag.

Canadian Rocks have an additional feature which is unique to our range - it is the only collection where every single solitaire stone is individually traceable from the mine to the finger. All Canadian Rock diamonds sold by F.Hinds were mined in Canada, cut in Canada, set into high quality jewellery in Canada and finally independently graded in Canada – and no other brand can make this claim.

Since these diamonds do not come with a certified appraisal should I pass? Or is the Canadian certified certificate reliable?

Who are you purchasing this stone from? Most vendors include an appraisal, but not all. You should also get a second opinion after you purchase the stone though, so that it's unbiased.

I have seen these stones come up in searches on James Allen and Blue Nile, they are far and few though. Typically they have been re-certed via GIA and in the comments section they always mention the lazer inscription of a maple leaf.
