Freshwater keshis, like round freshwaters, can be quite reasonable. I am pretty sure it's the Tahitian, Akoya and other saltwater keshis that are very expensive. All keshis, even the saltwater ones, are solid nacre, no bead in the middle. From what I understand (and I'm no pearl expert, mind you) keshis are pearls that start spontaneously in an oyster used to culture pearls, rather than started by the pearl farmer. LittleGreyKitten, I don't know much about keshis, but I see that they can go for a large amount of money-- what is it about them that makes them go for more? It puzzles me....
