Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased and received the .59, F, VS2 diamond in this link.

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.59-carat-f-color-vs2-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-178781

It is really beautiful and bright in person, but I am wondering if the clouds could be effecting it's performance? There is a cloud marked on the AGS report and it also says "Additional clouds are not shown". With my untrained eye, I am unable to see the clouds at all with a loupe or in the magnified picture, but I assume they are really in there since it was graded a VS2. I am getting ready to send the diamond back to James Allen to have them place it in a setting, but I'm just curious to find out if the clouds could be taking away from the beauty or performance of this diamond before I do.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

No, I can not see the clouds in the stone. If it was "affecting" the light return it wouldn't have gotten a 0 for light performance.

I think its a beautiful stone and I don't think you have anything to be worrying about.

That is a excellent point! I didn't even think about the light performance rating being a 0. I'm so glad you pointed that out.
Thanks!

This. There's a reason why AGS 0 is held in high regard within the industry. If anything is off or slightly affects light performance, it doesn't make the grade. The specs are narrow and stringent, unlike GIA Ex.

You have nothing to worry about.

Thank you!
I am a true newbie and didn't even think about the AGS numbers on the report. Now I will know in the future if it's a AGS 0, there are no worries. The diamond really looks beautiful to me, I just thought I might be missing something with the VS2 clouds, but good to know I wasn't. I am taking the diamond to FedEx tonight to send it back to James Allen for the setting. Thanks Again!

Beautiful diamond, great pick!
