I am thinking about purchasing this diamond to be the center diamond in a 3 stone engagement ring. From what I have learned from this site I can’t find anything that would alert my attention but I would appreciate everyone opinion. The only piece of information that I think would be useful that I don’t have is the crown height

ryman,

Welcome to PS!

It would appear that for a princess cut you will want to get the crown angle information, especially if you want to plug the numbers into this site to check the quality of cut.

There is a lot to be said for actually seeing the stone and being able to compare it with other possibilities since there are no standards set for fancy cut stones at this time. At least no standards like the ones for the round brilliant stones!

On paper (and without the crown angle info) it does appear to be a nice stone, with excellent polish and symmetry etc. To check pricing, have you plugged in your requirements to check what is available from the vendors that list on PS? You will get a ball park range.

Good luck in your search!

ryman,

I just plugged in the size and other stats to look up similar stone on PS. Most of the stones listed were between $2100 and $2300. If your stone is coming from a bricks and mortar store, the price compares well with what is on line, as usually b&m stores are higher price. And the depth of the one you have posted seems good.

Hope this helps!

You're definitely on the right track--the numbers are looking really amazing! Try to get the crown/pavilion info, and an ideal scope image if possible to get a better idea of light leakage and fire. However, as icelady said, if you found the stone at a B&M let your eyes be the judge!
