I have two diamond bands that I would like to be in yellow gold, not white. Does anybody know if worn down white gold could be "dipped" in to yellow gold to make it yellow?

I''ve been wondering this myself. I don''t see why not. Anyone else got any thoughts?

Yep. It can be done, though it''s not recommended - for rings in particular, you''ll probably need to have them redipped periodically, because of wear. I had a fun diamond pendant I''d set in sterling dipped in Y18K, and it''s looking grand, 6 months down the line, so I really don''t see much of a reason not to, if it''s the only way you''d love your existing jewelry ....

I was told by a jeweler that it can be done.

I had my white gold earrings dipped in yellow and they have looked awesome for over a year. I did the same thing with a ring I wear almost everyday and it wore off quicker.

Well, since sterling silver can be dipped (vermeil), it stands to reason that it can be done...but whether it is cost effective or wise to do it is another matter.

Yes it can be dipped no problem.

Good question, and good to know it can be done.

Can it be reversed if you change your mind?
