Can trellis settings have six prongs?

Can trellis settings have six prongs? I prefer the security of six prongs instead of four.

I don''t know if this counts as a true trellis setting, but it may be what you were looking for. Vatche has a royal crown setting that is six prongs... and it''s beautiful!

Wow, that is a pretty 6 prong ring. I feel my 4 prong is safe; I have had 6 and 4.

Ditto that you don''t need to be worried about the security of a 4-prong if you have it set by a reputable jeweler and inspect the prongs regularly. I''ve worn a 4-prong for 13 years with no problems, solid as a rock.

I agree with the above post about security, that 4 prong would still be secure. But I prefer 6 prongs too, because there would be less girdle exposed and I think that would reduce the chance of chipping at the girdle edges ... no?

If your girdle is at least medium, and we''re talking a round stone, I can''t imagine chipping would be much of a concern. Again, all I can say is that I''ve worn mine forever and a day, during workouts, housecleaning, whatever, and I''ve never had a problem. Stone is solid in the setting, no chips to the diamond.
