IMG_1031.JPG IMG_1045.JPG I no longer have the stone, so the question is purely educational. This stone was a recent ebay find. I louped it as soon I got it and immediately saw what looked like a chip to me ( a small chunk missing at the girdle). Took photos and send to the seller, who insisted there was no chip. She got the stone back and concluded that there's no chip, just a feather. I got a full refund, so I have no issues with the seller, but curious fif it really could've been anything other than a chip? What do you think?

The big ugly thing near the prong looks like what they call an indented natural. It's part of the original crystal surface. The little tiny thing next to it might be a chip but I wouldn't bet on it. Neither one is a feather.

By the way, that prong work is dreadful.

Thank you! I was maybe wrong about the chip then, but this indented natural was quite ugly! Yes, the prongs were pretty dreadful too, I was just going to use the stone, but it's back at the seller's and soon to be resisted as a "very high quality diamond with no defects."
