Hi, I just joined this forum and would like some advice on a ring I am strongly considering buying today. The GIA report indicates twinning wisps across face of the table. However, this is an ideal cut diamond and I think it looks good. Apparently twinning wisps are something that is uncommon in ideal cut diamonds, which this one is, so i want to get some expert advice before i drop a few K. I have been reassured that the diamond is eye clean but i need to know if the inclusions are something that I should definitely stay away from...

here is the GIA report

here is the GCAL report

Thanks to anyone who can help with this...

Ok here are a couple of other diamonds I am considering:

#2

GIA

GCAL

#3

GIA

GCAL

Please help me decide. Thanks!

Cut looks excellent.

The large twinning wisp is probably close to the borderline of eye clean and plots like that are normally closer to SI2, from what I've seen.

Wispy stones are usually cut from lower grade, irregular rough.

I'm not a great fan of wisps (I think that they're kind of like giant feathers), but I'll accept them if the stone is otherwise to my taste. They might be weak points, but in fairness, the diamond had to endure considerable stresses while being cut and if it got this far, it'll probably survive daily wear-and-tear.

I recently bought this stone (I have enlarged the inclusion plot and coloured the inclusions to help you see it more easily):
It's borderline eye clean and will be in a pendant, so there's little risk of durability issues. I'm not sure that I'd dare to put my stone into a ring.

Thanks FB! can you please give me some feedback on numbers 2 and 3 above?

Number 2 and 3 are also well cut.
But both have reasonable-size crystals (quite large for SI1 crystals) in a prominent position under the table that should be evaluated for eye clean. Crystals will usually appear black from at least one angle, but may be either too small to see, or may be reflective from the face-up position.

I''d say that they''re borderline eye clean. If you were to get the light right and the angle right and look up close, you might see the crystals. But I doubt that any casual observer would see the crystal.
I''m just best-guessing, so ask the seller if the stones are eye clean.

Nice, thanks for the advice everyone. This is the one I went with:

GIA

GCAL

Hopefully she likes it!
