Can ring prongs be altered?

Hi All,
I have a bit of a problem... I received my semi mount ring from OroSpot and I think the prongs differ from the pictures on Etsy.

The prongs on my ring are round and really long (see pic). Whereas, the Etsy pictures show the prongs to be half-round with baby claws.

I want the prongs on my ring to look like that - half-round with baby claws.

The stone needs to be set; can the prongs can be adjusted at that time? If not I'll need to return it to OroSpot for correcting. Please advise.

Thank you! View attachment 887449

Here's a pic of my semi mount and vendor pics.

Can the person setting the stone shape the prongs for instance, claw prongs, baby claw, etc.? Please advise. Thank you!

The prongs are left long on purpose. The jeweler who sets the stone will modify them to your specifications. They will be filed and shaped to accommodate the stone.

Yes, the prongs are unfinished.
The jeweller will cut them down and shape them to suit the gemstone being set.
And FYI even with pre loved settings the prongs can be slightly adjusted or alternatively a whole new “head” put in to accomodate a different shape or size gemstone.

Also, FYI... With only four prongs, a cushion cut will need larger prongs than for instance a RB will, simply to keep the stone in place. If I RB spins it will stay in place, but a cushion will fall off.
