Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of going down my reset Rabbit Hole, and during my recon, I've decided to move away from what I currently have (a micropave Halo ring, fully encrusted), and get a Larger Soli Ring, with some "heft" to it. Exploring Old Cuts only and meeting with Adam at OWD next week (literally counting the sleeps! Lol!). I currently have a 1.5mm Pave Shank, not sure how I have never had any trouble with it, its uber delicate- but the craftsmanship is remarkable, thank you Mark at BE!

I want a completely different vibe this time around, hefty shank, all gold with a Platinum head- no diamonds (assuming I want to bring out the white, I could be inclined to go all gold depending on the stone). I am exploring 2.5 mm- 3mm... the Stone will be in the 4 carat range, looking for a min of 10mm. Would love to see your Engagement Rings with this size Shank if possible, I want it to look sturdy, but also not over power the stone. My fingers are long and thin, size 4.25-4.5. I am currently wearing a 4, and fingers are feeling swollen when I wear bands, I plan to either wear this with two small stacking bands, and then upgrade to a much larger eternity diamond band down the road- for another anniversary- but this won't be for a while.

Would love to see your rings, and also hear your thoughts!

Attached is my current ring, as you can see, super thin… and my wedding band. I don’t like how disjointed they look together.

I’ve also attached a pic in my inspo folder, now mind you this ring is like 8 carats, so it looks pretty proportional, but I’m hoping to achieve the “heft” without taking away from the stone. IMG_2610.jpeg

Love the "inspo" ring style. I don't have a comparison for you, but I think you're on the right track. And I look forward to seeing what you choose! Have fun and much joy with your design process!

Not sure if this is what you wanted (with the side diamonds), but here is my ER with a 3mm shank. The center diamond is 2.14 carat, which is way smaller than your target size, I don't think it overpowers it. I'm wearing a size 5 in this. LOVE your wedding band, btw!

Here it is with my WR (also 3mm in width)

Thank you, I love it too! I don't have more photos, I literally screenshot off a story and then zoomed in :geek:. I found it off of greenwich st. jewelers! @Cerulean posted a pic and then I went looking for it!

Thank you!! Yes, DK (re)made my ER. They are very comfortable, and I am quite rough with my hands, so happy not to have to "baby" my rings.

I think your ring will look great - no worries about a substantial band detracting from a 4 carat! Heres a simulation of a 10x10mm cushion with 3mm band on size 4 finger.

@Cerulean you are the best, Lady!! Thank you!!

This might help for visualization. My stone is much smaller than what you're going for at only 7mm (OEC), but it is a two tone solitaire with platinum head and 18k YG shank. The widest part of the shank is 3.0mm and it has a slight taper toward the back of the shank where it decreases to 2.5mm. Finger size is 5.25-5.5.

The first picture is with a 3.0mm band beside it.

This is with a 2.5mm band beside it.

I prefer my rings to be in the 2.5 to 3mm range. I think my ring tapers from about 2.3mm to about 2.8mm near the diamonds. My finger size is larger (10.5) which is why I like this larger width. I also like a nice rounded shank.

GORGEOUS ring!!! I actually want a really nice rounded shank this time around as wll! Thank you for sharing this beauty! I have smaller fingers 4-4.25 and didn't want the shank to be overwhelming...

The trellis setting has always been a favorite of mine since I saw Sweet Home Alabama - so here's the solitaire version: https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...ong-trellis-solitaire-engagement-ring-764.htm

I have recently gotten 2 .55 H&A stones that flank my solitaire, so I'll be putting them in this setting: https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...tone-trellis-diamond-engagement-ring-1025.htm

Ohh! That is so exciting! I love a good 3 stone!

But girl - a 4-carat in a trellis setting is what dreams are made of!! Are you not a fan?

Haha! I think they are super pretty, but I have my heart set on a Crown setting for my OEC
