Arthur, that is a stunning stone, beautiful, and if eyeclean to your standards could be a superb choice - I take it you have read up on K colour and that is ok with you and would be with your GF? It wouldn't be a problem for me at all, as I love the lower colour grades, but I just wanted to make sure that you are ok with it, and know that the stone won't be icy white . You might notice a hint of warmth particularly from the side in some lights. PSer ArjunaJane recently purchased a gorgeous K colour of top notch cut quality also, and she is delighted with it, but it depends on individual preference.

Here is AJ's thread in case you haven't seen it -

Thanks Lorelei, I very much respect your opinion.

Paul and Rob picked that stone out for me from my specifications.
Although, I said I would be happy with a H SI1, they knew that with the high quality cut, I wouldn''t be able to tell the differance between H and K.
I compared it to a bunch of stones ranging from E - K and I could not tell the difference between them. I also compared it to VVI1 stones and couldn''t tell the difference.
Of course, I looked at it with a loupe and could see the imperfections in this SI1. But that is a beautiful eye clean stone.

I will discuss it with my girlfriend, but I think she will agree that it is perfect for us. She realizes that we aren''t made of money. We have put a ton of money into our house and we need to pay that off so we can retire some day.

My feelings are that Paul and Rob worked with all of the possibilities and picked what they thought would be best for my gf and I.

The ring has a 60+ day return guarantee and full price upgrade value. And the price is comparable to US online prices.

Just be sure to inspect it from all angles to ensure the color is OK for you. While it''s true that lower colors will look like higher ones face up, you may see quite a bit of color from the side views. If I were you, I''d probably put it in a setting that covers most of the sides of the stone.

Looks beautiful though! Infinity diamonds are some of the best out there.

My pleasure Arthur! If Paul and Rob picked it out, you have seen it and love it, and your GF is fine with it, then excellent!!!!! I can imagine it is a gloriously beautiful diamond, please keep us posted as to whether you get it, I shall be really eager to see it if so!!

Thanks jstarfireb,
I appreciate your input. We are here to avoid uncomfortable surprises.
When I was comparing the stones, I did turn it over and looked at from the side and bottom.
I am not even sure, but I might have seen a very slight bit of yellow in the sparkle looking from the side of the bottom part of the diamond.
Looking directly thru the clear bottom, I couldn't even notice yellow at all.
It is being set low in a 18k yellow Lucida with platinum x prongs.
And as I stated about, the ring is returnable for any reason. Paul was so confident, he said I could have more than a 60 day guarantee.
Of course, I wouldn't get a refund for the settinig once it's set.

My girlfriend will have a chance to look it over and will have the final say. She is not a demanding lady and I know for a fact that this ring far exceeds her expectations.

I will definatly be following thru with pics Lorelei. After all of the help I recieved here, that is the least I can do.

In fact, I would be happy to make a donation to this website for being here and to keep this site available.

To me it looks stunning :), like the others have said if the colour suits you and your FF go for it will be a stunner. You have also had the pleasure of being able to see it in real life and were happy with it I say woohoo :). I think your choice of setting is fantastic, one of my favourites and will definitely make that stone pop.

Congratulations :)

Well, after a lot of thought, I arranged to meet with Paul and Rob again to look at the diamond.
I had to figure out why I couldn''t see any yellow in a K colored diamond.
I also read about a guy that was going nuts about crystal inclusions that he swore were flashing from all directions. So, I had to check that too.

First off, I looked at the diamond again and I still couldn''t see any yellow even when I turned it upside down.
Then Paul put it in a special color checking dish and when I turned the diamond upside down I could see a slight yellowish tint.
I am quite sure that will be the last time I will ever see any yellow in this diamond.

I tried like crazy to get the little tiny crystal inclusions to flash with no luck. This baby is eye clean.

I also looked at the inscription since that was added after I looked at it last time.

Thanks Paul and Rob for allowing me to reinspect the diamond and for showing me how to find the yellow.

I am really glad you were able to get some reassurance Arthur! I can''t wait to see it!!

Paul also tried to show me the yellow in some other ways. Like by holding the diamond under the table. That caused a very slight tarnished look.
He showed me the diamond face up next to a lighter color one and I might have been able to see slight difference when looking from different angles.
Paul also showed me the diamond under a spot light but I couldn''t notice any yellow there.

I hear people mention that there are other conditions that the yellow will show. Most are positive. People call it warmth.
Some people seem to like colored stones because they actually change color due to different lighting conditions where as a stone with no color doesn''t change.
Would that be called mood?

I imagine that a person with a trained eye would be able to give a fairly close color estimate even with the stone mounted especially if they wore it for a while.

None of this makes me want a different stone. I am just metioning these things for the person who might be searching for info.

Looks great. I would love to have a K like that!

Well gang, I said I''d be back and here I am with a couple pics. She said yes by the way.
I am so happy that Lorelei gave me great advice and sent me to Infinity Diamonds in Antwerp.
And I can''t say enough good things about Paul from Infinity Diamonds and Rob from Diamond House.
They were a pleasure to work with and our diamond ring has many happy memories attached to it.
