I bought a diamond today from a local store and was told that it did not have any official certification or documentation.
I then took it to another local jeweler to get an independent opinion. He only had a minute to look at it, but he noted that the diamond was laser inscribed with a GIA report number. (He wrote down the number for me)
Is there any way that I can order a copy of the report from the GIA? I'm assuming that they keep their reports on file. I looked on their website and I did not see any information about ordering copies of existing reports.
