Hi again,

Can i have any thoughts on whether i will only be able to get a custom re-set for my ring or will a jewellers re-set, even though i am not purchasing the diamond from them.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated as i am fairly new to this site ans haven't really got much of a clue.

I hate the setting i currently have and i would like to get it re-set, but still not sure whether to go for a halo or not.
i stay in orlando and not sure if i can find a jeweller here also.

Thanks for your time :?

It depends on how much you want to spend. There are stock settings that can be ordered as a complete ring or as a wedding set.

There are remount events held at mall jewelers' stores and the mountings may be vastly overpriced but it gives you opportunity to try a lot of settings and see what looks good on your hand. They might even have something that's priced fairly for what it is.

Or you can go completely custom and have something completely designed and made to your specifications.

There are some nice halos if you look all the way through this thread:

To answer your question yes you can. Most jewelers won't care that you didn't purchase the diamond from them and will be happy to do a reset for you. However, when you decide exactly what design you want for your reset I would make sure your jeweler can actually create your vision- look at their work, ask lots of questions, ask to see previous examples if possible. See what their policy is if you don't like the reset etc.

Good luck!
