First one looks good, but it is shallow. Need to ask if it looks too contrasty.

Second one doesn't look as good. Large gap in price and size between them.

Both tables are large stay between 54-58

Thank you! I still have lots to learn. I'm still going through the resource section. Do you have any recommendations for something around .8-.9 carat? =)

budget?

$6-7k not including the setting. Thank you again!

Something like this? http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.91-carat-f-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-263691

You have a generous budget for a .8-.9, you could get a carat if you went down in color or clarity. It is up to your preferences.
Pick 3 from James Allen and they will give you a recommendation: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/?DefaultOrder&TabSelected=3&advancedParameter=pn&showAdvanced=show&ps=15&DiamondID=263688,263691,272087,266652,241780,223808

I really like the one you picked. Even though its a VS2, I can't really see the feathering or crystal like it says in the grade report. That's a good thing right? The table/depth percentages are good too?

Going down in clarity is good idea. Thank you.

Are you planning on reusing the same setting? Did you buy it from JA as well? If so you need to check with JA and see if that's even possible. If not they'll have to remake one to fit the larger stone.

Yes, they said it should be fine to do an exchange. =) They will either try to make it work with the original setting or remake a new one.

That's a HUGE difference in diameter, and halos are particularly unforgiving re. centerstone size... sure, they could probably wedge it in there higher, but to maintain the current aesthetic... I will be very surprised if you do not need a new setting.

Do you want very high clarity for a particular reason? I ask because in this size it'd be easy enough to find VS1/VS2s that are eyeclean by the nitpickiest standards, so if that's your only requirement you can save quite a bit by dropping a few grades. Of course some people want high clarity for other reasons!

It's going to be our only diamond purchase for a very, very long time, so I wanted to pick out something on a higher side of the scale. =)
Do you think the .8 will be okay?

Here's the idealscope. Can I get an opinion please? thank you!

Idealscope looks fine...I also would recommend saving money on a VS1 or VS2

It's perfection!!!

Is your budget still 7k? If so, I found two other options you may want to consider:

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.26-carat-g-color-si2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-280582

this is the biggest "true hearts" stone that wasn't a K, it's an SI2, but the feather is in an ideal spot to be hidden by a prong. I would ask them though what they think about the feather, if they think it may cause issues in the future. You want to get insurance anyways, but it's a gorgeous stone!

You have been looking at very high clarity for your own reasons, be cautious of SI stones for being eye clean.
