once the diamond is set? I wondered if the goldsmith can shave or file a bit of gold off, to narrow the width of the mounting to make it from 4.25mm, to about 4mm wide? If the diamond is already set, can this be done? Thanks
Thanks, I hope he can do it. It''s just a simple gold cathedral. I got the ring yesterday and he sized it too big, so it is going back for sizing, and wondered if he could tweek it a bit, by narrowing the shank.
in the same way could the inner edge of a palladium ring be rounded out to make it more of a "comfort fit" type setting? would it be time consuming or just a quick job?
