Found these rings among my things and don''t know where they came from? Anyone have any ideas about the ring with the two owls and broken ruby or the eagle ring? Thinking the eagle ring might be european or the small ring with the diamond in the center and blue stones...a child''s ring perhaps? Thanks for your help. I can''t get a pic on here so here is my question on craigslist. Thanks.

Hi Javaandjazz,

The rounded edges around the "broken" part of the ruby (or garnet?) makes me wonder if the original owner found it that way naturally (in a stream bed or out rock-hounding) and then had it polished and set? The owls remind me of a 1970''s design (but I''m no jeweller).

The small diamond and (synthetic?) saphire ring reminds me of a very simple lady''s 1920''s art deco peice (geometric simplicity, use of baguette saphires) - I doubt that anyone would make a diamond ring for a child.

The eagle on the ring with the lovely patina is vaguely reminicent of a Russian or Polish eagle in the way the feathers are splayed.

Try posting on the jewelry forum for more detailed ID by skilled jewelry detectives.

cheers,
HD
