It has that gritty texture to it but the mounting has no marks for being real silver but it wont stick to a magnet.20170723_201958.jpg 20170723_202000.jpg 20170723_202000.jpg

No.

I can't tell from the photo. It could be a freshwater-- is it button shaped? I've seen silver and silver plated rings with CZ/glass stones set with freshwater pearls on eBay selling at low prices. Examples:

Eliminate the word "freshwater" from the search and thousands more listings appear.

What is the provenance of the ring?

Given that it feels gritty, see if you can borrow a 10x loupe (basic equipment which I think we should all own) and look at the surface of the pearl under magnification. Real nacre is smooth-looking (apart from blemishes in the surface of the pearl) while imitation pearl coating is a bit coarser looking. If you are still on the fence, compare what you see with how a known-real and a known-fake pearl look under the loupe.
