Can an ags aset image be different from sarin aset image?

Hello,
I recently purchased a diamond from ritani and it is a ritani reserve diamond ags certified so it comes with an aset image. I requested a sarin report and the image looks different. Is this a common issue with different machines and different calibrations? That is what the representative at ritani told me and that she doesn't see an issue with it. But clearly the blue arrows are different. Does anyone have any insight on this? Thank you

Post images here.

And yes the ASET on the report will frequently look different from one from the real stone.

That's what I was going to ask. Post an image of the stone, too.

Those proportions track with the AGS ASET imprint. The other ASET would seem to be generated from different measurements. What you termed the "blue arrows," or obstruction pattern, show this: The AGS ASET imprint shows notably more depth in the pavilion, conforming to the 41.1 PA, based on the obstruction particulars. What is the given star length average?

I was not expecting those numbers based on the ASETs shown.
That is why real images are so important.

I think AGSL still uses a 30-40 degree obstruction hybrid on those imprints, generating a slightly larger footprint.

The numbers are closer to the top (AGSL) imprint. We all know that an actual diamond will have variations which make it unique. Still, I'm a bit puzzled too: Pavilion mains seem thinner than 80% lower halves would normally show. Also running for the airport in a few moments...Karl, any thoughts?

My first thought is that the AGS report ASET is showing defects what I have come to associate with problematic images that don't represent what a real image would show very well.
It is possible the diamond has wide ranging angles and or lower halves length that makes the image plausible but I am loath to make such a determination based on the data shown.
The only way to settle it is a real aset image of the diamond.

I am not sure if you want extra input other than what you have asked, but this is what I look for (or close to it) in an ideal cut diamond.

Same. Albeit the AGS generated ASET images are somewhat forgiving. When you note green spikes under the table on the AGS Reports, the photography will generally show more details regarding leakage such as would be expected from a 35/41.1 with a 62.4 depth combo.

Elle82, in simple terms: You can look at the images diamondseeker posted. They show a diamond with less pavilion-depth and wider pavilion mains than the AGS imprint you initially posted.

I've always found that to be the case. Along with scan error... Along with...

I have removed all sharp objects from my pockets, so that you can all toss me on the pile of real-image-requesters.

I had a very similar question a few weeks ago. Also from an AGS 0 i bought from Ritani. My eventual solution was returning the Ritani stone and bought an H&A from James Allen.

That being said, Ritani was very professional, handled my return and was a pleasure to work with.
