Can a 4 prong easily be changed to a double claw prong?

Hello! I'm curious if my setting can easily be changed from 4 prong to a double claw prong without needing to replace the entire setting and band? I just love the antique look the double claw gives. I'm wondering if my prongs can literally just be split down the middle to give it that look without adding too much bulk. Attached is a picture of how it is currently and i'd love to hear some expert knowledge!!

I'm guessing not as the prongs will be too thin and too weak to offer much, if any, structural support. What the jeweller can do is to replace the basket with one that has double prongs. The down side is that if it is a cast piece, it is no longer a single cast piece but two pieces, so it isn't as strong as previously. If your setting is a simple basket setting, it's better to just get a new one with double prongs.
