As many of you know, I recieved my 2ctw WF bangle on Thursday. I love it and it's gorgeous, however I'm having a few doubts about it. It's just a bit bigger than I would like on me, and it spins so I see half the gold and have the diamonds facing up often. Plus, it slides up my arm so it's hidden by my long sleeves and I have to keep moving it back down near my wrist. I know I can roll up my sleeves or wear 3/4 sleeves, but I don't want to have to do that forever. I really don't know what to do.

My original thought was to do an upgrade of my J VS2 .57 ACA and now I'm wondering if that's what I should do instead. I was looking at WF's site and they don't seem to have much of a selection of stone options in my budget right now, which is $3500 including the trade in amount. I would have a few extra costs doing this though. I have the diamond in a simple 6 prong setting right now and I plan on keep that and just changing out the head as I upgrade to larger stones. I would also need to have WF put something in the shank to help with the spinning, and I don't know what the best option is for that, so my actual stone budget would be a bit less than $3500.

To maximize my budget, I'd like an I or J and would go as low as an eyeclean SI2, hopefully get something a bit larger than 3/4 carat, but there isn't much at WF to fit that bill right now.

Any thoughts, suggestions, telling me I'm crazy?

Here's a picture of what I mean about the spinning of the bangle. Does anyone elses do spin this much? I've tried putting the clasp on the inside of wrist, thinking maybe that was weighting it down, but it didn't help.

How about switching to one of the tennis bracelets instead? They would at least always be showing diamonds. That would be my first choice, as I like bracelets, and they have a lot of oomph!

I am sorry you aren''t loving your bracelet

I do not own it, I discounted it as an option because it was only a 1/2 bangle and I didn''t want it to turn. If you want wrist wear Lyra is right you should go for the tennis bracelet, I love the 1/2 bezel...

Re upgrade, you sound like this is the option you really want, is it?

I already have a tennis bracelet so I don''t need one of those, otherwise I would have given that option serious thought. Even so, that wouldn''t take care of the issue that it would be sliding up my sleeve constantly.

I don''t know if the upgrade is the option I really want, but definitely an option. I was hoping to see what size diamond I could get with $3300 or so from WF, but they don''t have much with the specs I want. That would probably make my decision a bit easier.

orb...my bangle does that on me where it partially turns. it also moves up my arm and i have to push it down. i figured it was just the nature of owning a bangle. so maybe a bangle isn''t what you want after all. i also don''t wear my bangle during the winter with long sleeves because it does move a lot and overall it just bugs me to have it kind of half in and out of my long sleeves. so i just wear it in the spring and summer. but yeah if you don''t want something of that nature, maybe a tennis bracelet is better as it''s floppy and will not spin or move as much most likely.

I agree with everything Mara said. Mine is a little big too and can spin part way around, but that is just the nature of a bangle in my opinion. I also don''t wear mine with long sleeves. In fact I don''t wear any of my bracelets with long sleeves.

I mostly wear just a watch and don''t wear my tennis bracelet very often. Even though the bangle is beautiful, I know I wouldn''t really wear it. I''d much rather upgrade the other diamond, if it was me! They get in new diamonds every 6 weeks or so, so it is just a matter of waiting for the stone you like. It took me a few months to get matching earring stones that met my specs, but it was worth it.

I guess part of it is I''m not used to a bangle. I live in Maine, where a good portion of the year I wear long sleeves, so I wouldn''t get as much wear out of my bracelet as I would like. Does yours turn as much as the picture I posted? Maybe once I get used to it, I won''t feel the need to wear it every day LOL!

Maybe I''m just having buyer''s remorse? I just wish I didn''t think the bracelet was absolutely stunning!

I don''t know what to do! LOL!
I might email Lesley tomorrow and see what she has to say about getting in more diamonds in the specs I''m looking for and go from there. This way I''m fully informed.

Hello Orbaya,

I just want to say that I adore your bangle
30.gif
, but I totally understand the issues you''re having with it. I know completely what you mean about the bangle hiding under a sleeve! I usually don''t wear bracelets because of this, unfortunately.

I think an upgrade of your ACA would be a great choice if you were to do something different in lieu of the bangle. You''re right about Whiteflash''s inventory in that range right now. I would contact WF and see if they have any options that aren''t listed online, or see when/if they''ll have more options for you to choose from. They''ll surely be able to find you something! They will also be able to answer the question you have about the head and shank of your ring during the upgrade process.

I can''t wait to see what you come up with! The bracelet is lovely, but as lovers of diamonds tend to do, I''m sure I''ll adore whatever it is you pick out instead, if you do decide to make the change. Good luck!

I absolutely love the WF bangle! I've thought about buying one. However, I have the same concerns as you. I don't like the bangle spinning or moving up my arm. I don't like how it's hidden when wearing long sleeves and I were long sleeves throughout most of the year. That's why I never wear bracelets. So if it were me, I'd put the money into an upgrade. You can always see your ring. I'd wait until WF has a stone that fits the bill.

I agree with snlee, put the money towards an upgrade. Wait for a stone to come along that suits you.

OK, I think I'm a little dense here. You are talking about 2 separate transactions, right? (1) Returning the bangle and getting your $$$ back and (2) using that $$$ toward a diamond upgrade for your ring, correct?

Or are you talking about upgrading the bracelet toward a ring? Because (a) I didn't think the bracelet was upgradable, but I'm confused because I also didn't think that (b) it was returnable. Wasn't it custom?

Well... which or whatever, I feel your pain and I am so sorry you aren't 100% thrilled with it. It sure is gorgeous, which I can imagine isn't helping
2.gif
but honestly, it does sound like, gorgeous as it is, that it just isn't 100% comfortable to wear... so if it is returnable, I say that's probably your best option. Money doesn't grow on trees, so I believe in putting it where it will be best worn and enjoyed.

Keep us posted. (And BTW, that spinning would drive me NUTS, too!)

ETA: Oh, regarding there not being a stone in WF's inventory right now that suits you, do you know that you can always let WF know what you are looking for and they can try to find it. You don't always just have to sit back and wait and watch the inventory. Actually, most (if not all) of the PS vendors will do that same thing, I believe.

Bangles turn and move that''s their nature. If you can''t deal with this, then a bangle probably isn''t right for you. From my personal experience if something bothers me when I buy it, I usually don''t end up liking it that much down the road or wearing it much. At this point in my life I usually only buy things I really really like because of this.

If you would like to upgrade I would contact Lesley and tell her what you are looking for. It may take some time, but an upgrade is worth the wait of a few months. I think you would get a lot more use and appreciation out of a ring upgrade, but this is my personal opinion.

Mine does turn as much as yours in the picture. In fact if I really swing my arm I can turn it completely around to the metal side. That doesn''t happen often though. The bangle felt very strange to me at first but I have gotten used to it and I am okay with some movement. I live in a somewhat warmer climate though and can wear shorter sleeves more often. Although it is a drop dead gorgeous piece of jewelry it may just not be right for you. It is too pretty and too expensive not to wear and it makes more sense to put your money into what you WILL wear regularly.
