Hi Upgradeable, I was going through some threads and you have essentially the same Beverley K setting for your e-ring as I do, and are also as much in love with it as I am!
I am looking for a wedding band to go with it and am concerned about potentially scratching the gallery wearing them as a set.
I see you have a beautiful eternity band with yours that has a 2.5mm profile, do you find that the band rubs against the gallery of the ring at all? Do you see any scratching? I think you said yours is done in white gold, but mine is in platinum, so I figured I''d have to go with a platinum wedding band as well to avoid the wear that white gold against platinum might cause. True?
I''ve have gone into a few local jewelery stores to try on some various bands to see how they would sit against the e-ring gallery. I am considering a plain flat platinum band maybe with milgrained edges, a rope-twist platinum band (can''t seem to find one of these to save my life), or possibly a very low-profile eternity band with a raised milgrain edge like yours to keep the diamonds away from the e-ring gallery. The SA''s at the stores I''ve gone to have been less than helpful and could not/would not answer these questions for me. Even after I told them I don''t care if there''s a gap, one even wrinkled her nose and said "well with THAT ring it looks like you''ll always have a gap between the bands, clearly your ONLY option is to have a curved band made to match" then shot my fiance a dirty look like "this is all your fault, you should have thought of this."
I told her I didn''t want a curved band because I want the option to wear it without the e-ring and left.
So I guess my questions are these, addressed both to Upgradeable for her valuable personal experience and anybody who can weigh in:
-Will a platinum band rub and scratch another platinum setting?
-How thin in profile can an eternity band or plain band get before going out of round or other structural issues arise?
-Should I just say eff it and move my e-ring to my right hand and have my dear future husband buy me a new eternity stacker every anniversary to go with my wedding band?
Here''s a picture of the profile of the setting on my finger:
