Hi! I am a HUGE fan of the HCA. My husband and I are looking to upgrade my wedding set. I am starting with just the center stone - a round brilliant. Can you please advise me as to what the total depth should NOT exceed. I have become convinced that it should not exceed 61%. Is there any validity in my assumption. Secondly, would you please evaluate the following stone:
2.06 Carat Weight
Color: H
Clarity: VS2
Total Depth: 61.2%
Table: 55.2%
Crown Angle: 34.7 (34.6 - 34.9)
Crown Height: 15.6%
Pav Angle: 40.8 (40.6 - 40.9)
Pav Depth: 43%
Culet: 0.4
Girdle: 0.7 - 1.2
Star Upper Ratio: 52:48
Lower Girdle Halves: 75%
Cost: 24,200
HCA: 1.3 EX, EX, EX, VG

Is this kinda pricey??

Second question: what is the visual difference say between an HCA of 0.7 and an HCA of 1.5?

Thanks for your help.

If you have been reading these boards for a while I think some of the posters may have said 'they' liked to stay under 61 for the spread so the diamond looked larger?

I found your diamond on the Pricescope site, if you do a search above under InHouse it shows the spread and yours is reading +1%. In the following link it says under Proportion factors that spread should be within -5/+5% under the NEW AGS grading so the 61 would be okay.

Even under the OLD AGS grading system 61 pavillion was acceptable see the diagram of the old proportions in this link
