Hi Susimoo, if you see this could you please post shots of your new Links of London white topaz earrings? I saw in a recent thread that you'd bought them. I've been thinking about them for ages but am not sure how they look. Are you able to post some shots of them? Thanks so much, if you can!

Hi Smith!!!

I have the Hope earrings. The same ones that Kate Middleton wore on the day her engagement was announced to Prince William.

I do not know if these are the ones you are thinking of. I am in Australia for the next few years so I am rather behind on my beloved Links of London.

If they are the ones you fancy let me know and I will try and get some shots done this week. Although, it may be better to google images from that beautiful engagement day, as The Duchess of Cambridge is a lot younger and better looking than me!!!

Yes, the Hope Egg earrings in white topaz are the ones I mean. I did Google but there's nothing that shows how they actually look on a real person. Links doesn't allow you to return earrings, if you buy them online, you see. If there's any chance you could share your beautiful Kate earrings, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like a good gawp!

I'll be happy too!

I am rather busy at the moment. I am a freelance make up artist and I have finally got my career up and running over here.

I am very booked up until next week, so if I grab a chance I will do it before then but if not Tuesday is looking like bling day.

I also owe Rosetta some total bling shots for her marvellous thread too!

I'll get onto it ASAP!!!

How exciting that you're a make-up artist, and how frustrating that you're so far away! I adore make-up and have all the good stuff - Nars, Tarte, Laura Mercier etc - but I could use some lessons. I bought Kevin Aucoin's make-up book but it wasn't too much help. I wish you lived down the road and I'd pay you for a couple of lessons!

If you want to know about make up go to YouTube. There are loads of tutorials talking you through each stage.

I will give you a few of my absolute favourites, British Girls to boot, that are just marvellous.

Look up Pixiwoo, two sisters who are very well established make up artist, who not only are very talented but gorgeous too.
Then there is Lisa Eldridge of 10 Years Younger fame and Boots No7. She is also amazing and utterly divine to look at!

Promise I will get the old camera out next week.

I am glad you found my posts!

I wear them all the time. They are so glamourous but they can be worn during the day without being inappropriate.
They go with everything, because they are delicate and feminine without being OTT. I also worried that they may look like costume jewellery especially besides my diamonds. I am pleased to say that that was not the case. They hold their own and look and feel like fine jewellery. Oh and did I rell you about the sparkle?

I'll get you some ear shots ASAP.

Thanks for the detail, Susimoo! I too was worried that they would look "costume" - so nice to know that this is not the case!

I'm hesitating because they're cheaper in England, 275 pounds including tax, as opposed to $470 plus sales tax plus shipping. I am probably going home for a visit in May, but perhaps they will have sold out or stopped making them!! Then what will I do?! And also, I have to wait until May...but it's a saving of approx $65.00, so I should wait instead of blowing $65 for no reason.

It's difficult!

Susimooooooooo, you naughty girl....I have just bought the Kate earrings!!! And they will be here tomorrow! Soooo excited! I've been thinking about them for ages. They're expensive in America, but I've had a rotten couple of weeks with surgery etc. so I decided to treat myself to them. And, er, also to a Links silver sweetie drops necklace that goes with my bracelet. Both are on their way! Yayy!

I am so glad you got them. I am sure you are going to love them.


They were expensive buying from the Uk to be sent to Australia, with the exchange rate plus shipping, but I don not regret them one bit.

Get them in your ears as soon as they arrive. That is when the magic happens!!!
