I started looking at diamond studs thinking I wanted 1 carat total (half each ear). Now I''m thinking I want more like 75 points each ear. I was interested in Lynn''s posting re getting larger stones J-K color and having them with excellent cut. I am novice and don''t know best way to find excellent cut. Would you recommend going with Whiteflash and using their expertise to assist? I do know a couple of jewelers (one local and one in NY - both "wholesalers") who can give me a good deal price-wise, but I''d have to maybe get the stones appraised after I purchased. If I go with Whiteflash, would you say no need for appraisal? What about other online sellers that come up when I do a Pricescope search? Seems Whiteflash is favorite here.

Also what about suggestion I saw here about going to Tiffany''s and trying...as their earrings are going to be excellent cut like Whiteflash and will look bigger than others found in average jewelry store?
Thank you.

Honestly, I wouldn''t try at Tiffany.....the stones would be gorgeous, but you''d pay through the NOSE for them and you can get just as high-quality stones from the vendors here for a fraction of the cost.

I cannot recommend enough the WF ACA stones....they are just incredible! I just received a pair (bought jackets to go with them), and I''m mesmerized by the life in them. I''ve had several ACAs, but each time I get em, they wow me.

Their ES stones are fine too, as are many of the offerings the vendors here have. As long as it''s well cut, you should do fine.

Are you asking if you should go to Tiffany in order to get a good idea of the size? if so, then yes, they would be a great place b/c on average their stones are going to be the best cut you'll find at a retail jewelry store. But, alj is correct that buying them there would cost you $$$$$$...you can do much better with an online vendor.

There have been many happy WF customers here, but there are several other favorites that you could easily buy from that can easily provide you with high quality stones. Goodoldgold, wink jones, engagmentringsdirect...to name a few....

I had seen someone''s suggestion to go to Tiffany''s to try on. I don''t want to pay their prices. However if all they sell are excellent cut, high in color and clarity, they maybe I shouldn''t go there.
