Just want you to know that I''m thinking of you, and I hope that you get some good news soon.

Strangest thing is that for some reason I have been thinking of Lost Sapphire recently and hoping she was okay. I am hardly on PS these days so I searched and found that I must have missed the recent thread.

LostSapphire- ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) to you. We''re thinking of you, and hope that you are getting some relief or some hopeful news.

Hello my friends. thanks for checking up on me.

Things are not good.

I'm trying to adjust to the news from last week: 3 neurosurgeons met with me to advise that the damage to the nerve @ my brain stem is permanent. They have now determined that the surgery has failed in it's goal.

I wrote a whole big explanation but erased it. No point in whining. It hurts. And it's not fixable. And barely medicate-able without severe side effects. I feel like a LOSER.

LS, in my mind you'll always be a strong, incredibly courageous woman. And under the circumstances, I'd say that you're entitled to cry, wail, scream, rail, pound your fists... and yes, to whine. Frankly, I'd be concerned if you didn't!

You (and your doctors) will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh LS.

LostSapphire, I am so sorry....... but please, don''t say you feel like a loser. If anything, you''re the ultimate fighter! I feel so badly for you, and I know what you''ve been through because my grandmother suffered from the same thing her whole life. My thoughts and my prayers are with you. Medicine is changing and evolving all the time. Please don''t lose hope.

I was wondering about you as you have one of my fav settings/stones on PS and I was wondering how your health was too. I''m sorry things aren''t good.

Lots of *Hugs,* healing Dust, and prayers your way LS! you are sooo strong and courageous!

Oh LS I''m so, so sorry. You are NOT a loser, far from it! You are an incredibly brave and strong woman that will get through this. My continued wishes that someone, somewhere will come up with something that will help you!

Oh my, you are in my thoughts and prayers and lots of dust coming your way

No you most certainly are NOT a loser LS. I am very sorry the surgery didn''t do the trick. I was soooo praying for you, and hoping you''d get the relief you needed. Don''t give up hope, there may be other Docs out there, who can do something without another surgery... At least to make you comfortable and not knocked out.

Sending you a huge hugs. I feel for you, I really do...

LS - don''t ever feel like a loser, dust your way, others are right, never give up hope... never ever!

Aw, LS, I''m so sorry, but there is no way you''re a loser!!

Anything that helps to raise your spirits is definitely NOT whining!!!

((((((((((((HUGE HUGS))))))))))

If one day, you feel like telling your story, please do so. I found that to be very cathartic, and no one ever interrupted me or told me to stop.

I am so so sorry. That sucks!

You''re not a loser - you''ve just had some incredibly difficult news.

I think, at your leisure and as you feel like it, you should try to tell this last chapter in the story. You never know when someone, somewhere might see it and be able to help in some way.

We are here to listen and we all care. I''ll certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Good griefus LS, you''re anything but a loser

You''ve had some extraordinary bad luck but it''s not as though you chose it. Losers are defined by their actions and yours have been quite courageous IMO

I hope you know we think the world of you

Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t. The worst things always happen to the best people Lost. Purrfectpear always tells it like it is and I couldn''t have said it any better.

Now let''s go get a beer and eat some incredibly fattening food, and swap dirty stories. Oh and then let''s get high!

My oldest and dearest friend in the UK told me she had breast cancer two weeks ago, and that it had spread. That and all the other bad luck she has had in recent years are making her question what ever did she do in a past life to deserve all this. I told her there is a reason God tests the patience of saints.

Love ya, hang in there.

I''m so sorry LS!

Oh no! Its so good to hear from you but I''m sorry you''re dealing with maddening news in addition to your existing pain. I really hope someone finds a creative solution to the situation you''re dealing with in your lovely noggin. And I''ll keep hoping for that until you feel much, much better.

Oh God the 2 of you are making me cry!

Thanks everybody. I''m trying out some new meds and we''ll see how that goes.

PP thankyou for the clarification on what is a loser. You''re right, of course, I just needed to get hit over the head with it. Heaven knows I wouldn''t have chosen this for my current ''fun'' in life.

Gailey, I don''t do beer or get high. But I DO mangle on occasion.

Gotta go get myself presentable for work. Your support helps a LOT.

This is me trying to smile with a frozen/mad face:

LS:

I agree you are anything but a looser. Loosers give up; and you havn''t.

That does not mean you cannot have a down day or period while you try to figure out your new strategy.

I''ve learned to be adaptable to life''s changes to my physical body. It seems that every year or so I have to figure out an alternate way to do something - or in a few cases admit that it is unlikely that I can do something I used to do (like long distance backpacking). I can still day hike, and I might be able to pull off 1 night in a tent with portable equipment. But, if I am to finish the Appalacian trail when I retire. It will be hiking hotel to hotel instead of shelter to shelter for most nights.

Enjoying freinds, helping people, and lots of other things can still be done - even if mountain climbing is probably out. Also, at least I have stood on the top of a few mountains and enjoyed the view.

Have a great day, and I know you will still have a great future.

Perry

Thinking about you, honey. You''ve been through a lot and faced it with such courage and spirit (as well as humour) and I''m sorry to hear you''re having to deal with more.

Loser isn''t the word I''d pick to describe you either.

I hope that the meds you''re moving on to will bring some relief.
